Thread Detail

The Thread Detail page shows the complete message history for a single conversation thread. Messages are displayed in chronological order as a timeline. Users can reply to the most recent inbound message, switch between Reply and Reply All, and perform thread-level actions such as archive, pin, or mute.

  • Route: /communications/threads/:id
  • Menu Path: Open a thread from the Inbox
  • Primary audience: Team members who handle inbound communications.
  • This page is currently DEV-gated and only visible in development environments.

The thread detail page has three main areas:

  1. Header bar — shows the thread subject, channel icon, back button, and action buttons.
  2. Message timeline — a scrollable list of all messages in the thread. Each message shows the sender avatar, name, timestamp, and body. Email messages show the full subject, to, cc, and from fields.
  3. Reply composer — a fixed panel at the bottom of the page for composing replies.
ActionDescription
BackNavigates back to the Inbox
ArchiveMoves the thread to the Archived view
UnarchiveRestores an archived thread to the Inbox
MoreOpens the actions menu for Pin, Unpin, Mute, Unmute, and Add Label

The reply composer supports:

  • Reply — replies to the most recent sender only
  • Switch to Reply All — expands the reply to include all recipients from the last message’s To and CC fields
  • Pre-filling the To field from the inbound message header
  • Selecting from available email accounts (to choose the sender identity)
  • A plain-text message body
  • Sending immediately or scheduling for later

Note: A reply is only available when there is at least one inbound message in the thread. If the thread contains only outbound messages, the composer shows “No inbound messages to reply to.”

Each message in the timeline is labeled with the channel it came through:
