Variant Group Detail
The Variant Group Detail page is where a group becomes usable for style generation. It manages the group metadata plus its ordered dimensions and values.
Accessing the Page
Section titled “Accessing the Page”- Route:
/items/variant-groups/:groupId - Menu Path: Items -> Variants -> Variant Groups -> Manage
Header Fields
Section titled “Header Fields”| Field | Description |

| Code | Group identifier. |
| Name | Display name. |
| Type | MATRIX, SIMPLE, or BUNDLE. |
| Active | Controls whether the group can be selected for new style workflows. |
Dimensions
Section titled “Dimensions”Dimensions describe the axes used to generate variant combinations.

| Code | Dimension code. |
| Name | Dimension label shown to users. |
| Dimension Type | SIZE, COLOR, MATERIAL, WIDTH, or CUSTOM. |
| Sort Order | Determines display and generation order. Dimensions can be reordered by drag and drop. |
Values
Section titled “Values”Each dimension can contain ordered values. Values support a code, name, optional hex color, and optional image. Images are useful when a color or material needs a swatch for selection, catalog, or pack-template display.
Type Rules
Section titled “Type Rules”- Bundle groups cannot contain dimensions.
- Simple groups can contain only one dimension.
- Matrix groups can contain multiple dimensions.
- Type changes are blocked until existing dimensions satisfy the selected type rule.
